« L’ACID » is a selection program of the Film festival of Cannes that gives new promising directors, and surprising audacious movies a chance to be presented at the festival.
The program of 2016 has been an eclectic choice again to arrive at these 14 directors, whose work will be presented. Nine of the chosen feature films show us the complexity of our present world through joyful and diverse approaches of storytelling and genres.
There are cool comedies, incredible destinies, paranoid anti-heroes available and these films explore all frontiers of reality and make us lean backwards now and then.
In 2014, Fabianny Deschamps presented her first movie at ACID, the selection program of the Film festival of Cannes, with “New territories” and we adored her work. Today she has presented her new film ISOLA and it is equally beautiful and bewitching.
DAI, a young Chinese fugitive (Yilin Yang), living in a cave on an unidentified Italian island, searches her husband, victim of a shipwreck. When a young man (Yassine Fadel) shows up at the beach unconscious, she convinces herself at the cost of becoming mad, he must be her lost husband.
How not to mention the performance of the actor Yassine Fadel, the “he has to be my husband”, who is kept in a cage, most of the time, by the heroin and sinks slowly into madness himself. A high standard performance where every single feeling, from gentile surprise to out bursting rage is composed with the right energy and this perfect duo of actors, therefore impressions deeply every spectator of this film.
