40th Festival of the Short Film at Clermont-Ferrand (from 2nd until the 10th February) and the 10th edition of the Euro Connection Forum to promote co-producing means an anniversary that counts. That’s why I was present at the festival for the 20th time in my career.
……
8217 films had been send and 454 were selected in the different selections.

In the context of the international competition, the Award for Best Comedy “Le Prix du Rire Fernand Raynaud” went to the film “State of Emergency” of Sebastian Petretti. A Belgian production from LOVO films and Abyssal Process.
I had the opportunity to interview one of the two lead actors: YASSINE FADEL
Cinergie: What did you feel, when arriving at this notorious festival?
Yassine Fadel: I was impressed because of the big audiences of professionals present here, as well during the screenings as at the market. And on top of that, there are also a lot of youngsters and students!! The theaters are always sold out during the whole festival.
Cinergie: How was the interaction with the public?
Yassine Fadel: Our short movie was so well received by the audience, it touched me profoundly.
Cinergie: What will you remember about your passage at this Clermont-Ferrand Festival?
Yassine Fadel: I wasn’t acquainted with this Festival, but now I want to come back with great pleasure. In the other hand, I was very impressed with some of the selected films, they could touch me so deeply, but I was also very proud to realize a good deal of Belgian films and actors had succeeded to getting in this Festival in different categories. May this Festival live forever. And finally, thanks to Sebastien Petretti for writing this part for me, it was an incredible adventure.
